Renato Russo, Legião Urbana
1973–1996
This is one of the most famous blocks in Asa Sul, where the Manfredini family moved in 1973, occupying an apartment in Block B. Before that, at age 7, Renato lived for two years in New York. At 15, he was diagnosed with a rare bone disease and spent six months at home, with another year and a half of recovery. He spent that time listening to music and building a rock collection that impressed his friends. It was there that he composed much of the initial repertoire for Aborto Elétrico and Legião Urbana. Considered the symbolic ground zero of Brasília rock, tourists from all over Brazil come to photograph the building. Part of the official Rock Route.
