Cine Itapuã

The Story

This movie theater opened on March 28, 1961, and was the second oldest cultural venue in Brasília, second only to Cine Brasília. It was the city's first public cultural facility. As part of a cultural complex with a square surrounded by bars, snack bars, and restaurants, the entire Gama rock scene passed through there. Brasília's rock scene was represented by Legião Urbana in a show at the bandstand in the middle of the square. It's an official stop on the Brasília Capital do Rock Route. It was closed in 2005, and there is already a plan to renovate it for the people of Gama.
