The Story

The Art Deco landmark Rockefeller Center opened in 1932 and remains one of the world's most elegant concert venues. It has hosted the Grammy Awards, Adele, Madonna, and thousands of other artists. In 1976, Deep Purple performed here with a surprise backstage visit. Led Zeppelin’s John Bonham and Robert Plant were in the audience, and Bonham even went on stage to address the crowd. The 6,000-seat interior with its expansive curved ceiling is one of New York's greatest architectural achievements.
