Pinole Valley High School

The Story

The school in Pinole where Billie Joe Armstrong and Mike Dirnt studied together and where the idea for Green Day was born. Mike Dirnt moved into a room in Billie Joe Armstrong's garage after his mother moved out of the area to keep the band going. On the day Dirnt graduated, they loaded up a van and went on tour across the country. Billie Joe dropped out of school before graduating to dedicate himself entirely to Green Day's future.
