Permanent Records Roadhouse

The Story

This store was founded in Chicago in October 2006. Created by Liz Tooley and Lance Barresi, it arrived in Los Angeles in 2011. It occupied locations in Eagle Rock, Highland Park, and Echo Park before moving, at the end of 2019, to the former address of Cafe NELA, a traditional Cypress Park music venue that had hosted nearly 1,100 shows, becoming the city's first bar-store-music venue. It remains active, focusing on a well-curated selection of new, used, and rare vinyl.
