Paul McCartney Childhood Home

The Story

The house where the McCartney family moved in 1955, and where Paul grew up after the death of his mother, Mary, the following year. He and John Lennon rehearsed and wrote their songs here in the front room while Paul's father, Jim, was at work. "Love Me Do" and "I Saw Her Standing There" were some of the anthems created in this living room. It's currently managed by the National Trust and is open for guided tours.
