The Story

The house where Paul McCartney grew up after the death of his mother Mary in 1956. He and John Lennon would rehearse and write here in the front room while Paul's father Jim was at work. Love Me Do and I Saw Her Standing There were among the songs composed in this living room. Now managed by the National Trust, it is open for guided tours. Get tickets at nationaltrust.org.uk.
