Roberto Carlos, The Ramones

Est. 1983–2012

The Story

Opened on April 5, 1983, with Roberto Carlos's Emoções tour. For two decades, the Palace hosted over 3,500 shows and was one of the country's main stages for national and international pop music. When the Ramones came to Brazil for the first time, in January 1987, at the end of the Animal Boy tour, this was their home. It was later renamed Directv Music Hall and then Citibank Hall in the same building, but with different names. It closed in March 2012. Soon after the concert venue closed in March 2012, the old building that housed the Palace and Citibank Hall was torn down to make way for real estate speculation in the region.
