Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum

Grateful Dead, The Who, Bob Dylan

1966

The Story

This stadium opened in September 1966, with the first NFL game between the Oakland Raiders and the Kansas City Chiefs. The Grateful Dead performed major concerts here throughout their career, such as alongside The Beach Boys in June 1974, The Who in October 1976, and Bob Dylan in July 1987. It underwent renovations over the decades and changed its name several times, but it still stands, even after the Athletics' departure from the city in 2024.
