The Story

This club opened in 1931 on Market Street as a speakeasy during Prohibition. In 1951, the venue moved to its current address on Columbus Avenue, where it operates to this day. Tom Waits, Duke Ellington, and Marvin Gaye have all played here. The club continues to be run by the same family.
