Nick Cave, The Birthday Party, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds
· 1982
Nick Cave arrived in Berlin in 1982 with The Birthday Party, but the band imploded within months. Nick Cave stayed, met Blixa Bargeld of Einstürzende Neubauten, and co-founded The Bad Seeds. He lived for years in the loft of bassist Nick Dreher on Dresdner Straße in Kreuzberg, before moving to Brazil in 1990. Four Bad Seeds albums were recorded at Hansa Studios a few blocks away. The street is still residential. Private address.
