The Story

Jazz Musician, Trumpeter. One of the most innovative and influential musicians of the 20th century, Davis pushed jazz through bebop, cool jazz, modal jazz and fusion across a five-decade career. He was buried with one of his trumpets. His headstone features an etching of his composition Solar. Located steps from Duke Ellington at the heart of Woodlawn's Jazz Corner.
