Marlene-Dietrich-Platz

The Story

This central square in Potsdamer Platz was named after Marlene Dietrich in the late 1990s and is home to the Berlin International Film Festival. Indirectly referenced by Bowie in the 2013 song "Where Are We Now?". The dedication reads: "World star of film and song in Berlin. Dedicated to freedom and democracy, to Berlin and to Germany."
