The Story

The central square at Potsdamer Platz named after Marlene Dietrich in the late 1990s, home to the Berlin International Film Festival. Referenced indirectly by Bowie in Where Are We Now? (2013). The dedication reads: "Berlin world star of film and song. Committed to freedom and democracy, to Berlin and Germany."
