The former Liverpool Institute High School for Boys, where Paul McCartney and George Harrison studied in the 1950s. The building fell into disrepair after the school closed in 1985. McCartney co-founded the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts here in 1996, personally helping to raise funds for its restoration. He has served as lead patron ever since and attends graduation every year.
