John Lennon

The Story

This is the semi-detached house on Menlove Avenue where John Lennon was raised by his aunt Mimi and uncle George, from 1945 until he moved to London in 1963. Restored and managed by the National Trust, it is open for guided tours. Every year, on the anniversary of his death on December 8, the Trust leaves the light on in his old bedroom throughout the entire night.
