John Lennon Statue

The Story

A statue of John Lennon positioned near Penny Lane, installed in October 2020 to mark what would have been the musician's 80th birthday. Before settling there, the piece went on a world tour, with stops at Glastonbury and the Hard Rock Cafe in London. Sculpted by the late Laura Lian, the piece depicts a relaxed Lennon leaning against a peace sign with the word "Imagine" integrated into the design. It is one of several statues of him in the city. The others are located at the Cavern Club, Liverpool John Lennon Airport, and Pier Head.
