John Lennon Statue

The Story

A statue of John Lennon located near the intersection of Penny Lane and Briardale Road, where he used to pass by bus as a teenager. Carved by Laura Lian, the piece depicts a relaxed Lennon standing with a sculpture inscribed "Imagine". It is one of several statues of him in the city. The others are at the Cavern Club on Mathew Street, at Liverpool John Lennon Airport, and at Pier Head as part of the group of the four Beatles. This is the one closest to the street that gave its name to the 1967 song.
