The Story

This house is where Joe Strummer lived between 1978 and 1979, already at the peak of his fame with The Clash, maintaining the same lifestyle as when he still played with the 101ers. It was on Daventry Street that director Julian Temple filmed Sid Vicious in the music videos for "C'mon Everybody" and "Something Else." The building, now managed by the Seymour Housing Co-op as social housing, received a plaque on December 7, 2016, a date chosen to mark the anniversary of the release of the "London Calling" single.
