Hotel Marina Palace

The Story

This former hotel on the Leblon waterfront opened in the 1980s and became part of the sentimental landscape through the song "Virgem" by Marina Lima and Antonio Cicero, released in 1987. "The Hotel Marina when it lights up, it's not for us two, it doesn't even remember our love." The hotel was also the setting for recordings of the TV Globo telenovela Mulheres Apaixonadas. Closed for renovation since November 2017, the building is expected to be replaced by a Four Seasons hotel, with an opening scheduled for 2029, ending an important chapter in Leblon's musical landscape.
