Chris Cornell Hollywood Forever Cemetery

The Story

Chris Cornell was the voice of Soundgarden and Audioslave, and along with Temple of the Dog, helped define the sound of an entire generation. Colleagues like Eddie Vedder and Axl Rose have called him the best rock singer. He died on May 18, 2017, at the age of 52, shortly after a show in Detroit. He is buried in Hollywood Forever Cemetery, in Hollywood, very close to Johnny Ramone's grave, in a corner of the cemetery that holds so many other legends of the city. His tombstone bears a simple and poignant phrase: "voice of our generation, and an artist for all time." And right below, "beloved husband and father."
