The Story
Operating from October 1950 to 1984, the studio was renowned for its custom-built recording equipment and proprietary echo chambers. It was a key location for the development of Phil Spector's "Wall of Sound" technique and classic tracks by artists such as The Beach Boys, Ritchie Valens, and Buffalo Springfield. The original building was destroyed by fire shortly after its closure in 1984, and the site is now occupied by a strip mall.
