Renato Russo, Philippe Seabra, Legião Urbana, Plebe Rude
1980
This shopping center on QI 11 was affectionately nicknamed "Gilbertinho" by the youth of the 1980s, as it was a smaller, alternative version of the neighboring Gilberto Salomão. At the height of 80s culture, the place became one of the most iconic rock strongholds in Brasília. It was a mandatory meeting point for punks, goths, metalheads, and musicians of various generations. There, the crowd gathered to drink, discuss music, exchange records, and plan the directives of local rock. The venue was also the scene of confrontations with "playboys" from the region. It was after one of these scuffles, involving Philippe Seabra and Renato Russo, that the eternal legionnaire was inspired to write the song "A Dança." Today, the original structure has given way to Deck Brasil, but the spot remains alive in the affective memory of Brasília rock. Official point of the Brasília Capital do Rock Route.
