George Harrison Birthplace

The Beatles

1943

The Story

The terraced house in Wavertree where George Harrison was born on February 25, 1943, and lived until he was six years old. The family did not have an indoor bathroom, using an outdoor toilet in the backyard itself. Harrison later described the house as modest but "always sunny in the summertime." It is a private residence, but since 2024, an official Historic England blue plaque, unveiled by Harrison's widow, Olivia, marks the house.
