Estátua do Tom Jobim

The Story

Opened in December 2014 in Arpoador, the life-size bronze statue shows Tom Jobim walking with a guitar on his shoulder, a pose based on a real photo from 1961, taken in Brasília. It stands at the border between Arpoador and Ipanema Beach, a few meters from the coastline he frequented his entire life, swimming and fishing since childhood. One of the most photographed places in Rio by Brazilian and foreign fans.
