1994–1997
The building that is now Cine Santa Tereza had an active musical life between the closing of the original cinema in 1980 and its reopening as a cultural space in 2016. After hosting the "Santa Thereza Cine Show" (1984) and the "Casa Blanca" music venue (1987), the space reopened in 1994 as a dance club, named "The World of Trash," or simply known as Trash. The club hosted alternative, punk, and metal bands but closed in 1997. It was part of the same ecosystem as Bar do Bolão and Bar do Orlando, which made Santa Tereza the creative center of Belo Horizonte.
