The Story

This cinema opened in 1952, dedicated to Japanese films, and became a meeting point for the local community. It closed its doors as a cinema in the 1980s, when the building became the headquarters of a Pentecostal church. After a renovation, it reopened on November 11, 2011, as a music venue, with a capacity for approximately 1,300 people. It has hosted names such as Peter Hook, Dead Fish, City and Colour, Royal Blood, Mudhoney, and festivals like Balaclava Fest. It remains active.
