Noel Rosa
· 1937
One of the most important composers in samba history, Noel Rosa wrote hundreds of songs in a tragically short career. He died of tuberculosis in 1937, at just 26 years old. His irreverent lyrics about Vila Isabel and the daily life of Rio de Janeiro shaped the entire vocabulary of samba that came after him. Ask at the administration for his exact location in block 12.
