Casa da Matriz

The Story

A residential house in Botafogo converted into a nightclub in the early 2000s. For over 20 years, it was the epicenter of the independent, alternative rock, and electronic music scene in Rio, playing the role that Circo Voador had for the previous generation, but on a smaller scale. It closed as Casa da Matriz in 2020, during the pandemic, and reopened under the name Fonte Rio at the same address in 2023.
