The Story
The mural painted by artist Jimmy C on Tunstall Road, Brixton, in 2013, became the focal point of a huge public outpouring of grief following David Bowie's death in January 2016. Brixton is where David Robert Jones was born in 1947 and spent his early years, before his family moved to Bromley. Bowie will not be eligible for an English Heritage Blue Plaque until 2036.
