The Story

The most famous techno club in the world opened in 2004 in a former 1953 combined heat and power plant in Friedrichshain. Concrete walls, 18-metre ceilings, a Funktion-One sound system, a total ban on photography, and the most selective door in Europe. In 2016, a German court officially designated Berghain a cultural institution, reducing its tax rate. Many celebrities have been turned away at the door. Parties start Saturday night and can run until Monday morning.
