Astra Kulturhaus

The Story

This venue functioned as the cultural center of the Deutsche Reichsbahn within the railway complex that today forms the RAW-Gelände. Reopened in 2009 as Astra Kulturhaus, it retained its original décor and a retro atmosphere that became the venue's trademark. With a capacity for 1,500 people, the venue became a concert spot for rock, indie, punk, and metal, hosting Napalm Death, Die Ärzte, Death Cab for Cutie, and Wolf Alice, alongside bigger names like Florence + the Machine and Lykke Li. It is located a few meters from other hotspots of Berlin's metal scene, such as Paule's Metal Eck. It remains active.
