The Story

This store was founded in 2003 by Márcio Rocha and Bruno Alonso. Named in homage to the tropicalist movement, it spent 20 years in a discreet little room in downtown Rio, becoming a must-visit for anyone looking for Brazilian music, from samba to jazz, cataloged by artist's first name. After two decades downtown, the store moved to Botafogo, gaining a much larger space on Rua Sorocaba, where it also began hosting events and small shows. In May 2026, Dua Lipa included the store in her own list of favorite places in the world, created in partnership with Google Maps and Service95, describing the place as "a charming little record store that understands Brazilian music in all its forms."
