The Story

This store has been run by Dalva Araújo for over three decades, one of the most beloved figures in Ipanema's small physical music circuit. The collection mixes classic, punk, rock, and recent releases across CDs, vinyl, and Blu-ray, new and used, all at a fair price. The atmosphere offers personal service and friendliness, which makes customers from outside Rio stop by whenever they return to the city. Before becoming Sonata, the space was occupied by other record stores like Musicale and Top Sound. It's located just a few meters from the General Osório subway station.
