Titãs Jesus Não Tem Dentes

Titãs

1987

The Story

The promotional photos for the 1987 album *Jesus Não Tem Dentes no País dos Banguelas* by Titãs were taken at Cemitério da Consolação, one of São Paulo's oldest cemeteries, opened in 1858. One of the images, featuring the band atop a tombstone, became the cover of the *Folha de S.Paulo* newspaper and so enraged Mayor Jânio Quadros that he fired the cemetery administrator. The setting matched the album’s irreverent and politicized spirit. Titãs were already one of the biggest names in Brazilian rock at the time.
