The most famous address of the Marquee Club in Soho is where British rock grew between 1964 and 1988. The Who had a 23-week residency here. Jimi Hendrix played here several times. Pink Floyd was the resident band of The Spontaneous Underground on Sundays. Led Zeppelin, Queen, Guns N' Roses, and Joy Division also played here. The City of London placed a commemorative plaque for Keith Moon saying: Legendary rock drummer of 'The Who' played here at the site of the Marquee Club in the 1960s.
