London's most famous nightclub has been operating under the arches of Charing Cross station since 1979, when Jeremy Norman transformed the decaying venue into a multi-room club. Pet Shop Boys, Madonna, and Cher have performed here. New Order, Nick Cave, and Throbbing Gristle played in its early years. In 2020, it was declared an Asset of Community Value, protecting the space from real estate speculation.
