Taylor Swift Sugar Loaf Building

Taylor Swift

2014

The Story

This 19th-century brick building, dubbed the Sugar Loaf Building, is Taylor Swift's most famous residential complex in New York. In 2014, she bought the 8,000-square-foot duplex penthouse on the top floor from director Peter Jackson, who had to evict actor Ian McKellen who was living in the apartment. In 2015, she bought the neighboring townhouse at 153 Franklin Street. In 2018, she also bought a second-floor apartment in the same building, connecting the two properties. Before moving to the Sugar Loaf Building, she lived on Cornelia Street in the West Village, which was honored in the track "Cornelia Street" from the album *Lover*. Orlando Bloom, Aziz Ansari, and director Steven Soderbergh are neighbors in the same building, now one of the most photographed addresses by fans in New York.
