The Story

Pete Howard opened this record store in 1977, with much of the collection coming from his own. Noel Gallagher, still a teenager, was a frequent customer, buying records from The Smiths, Joy Division, and Happy Mondays that would shape the Oasis sound. He wrote the lyric immortalizing 'Mr Sifter' during a taxi ride, while stopped at a traffic light right in front of the store. The store is still open, run by Pete himself. On the right side, there's an Oasis mural.
