Oasis
· 1977
Pete Howard opened this record store in April 1977 with 700 LPs from his own collection. Noel Gallagher, still a teenager, was a frequent customer, buying records by The Smiths, Joy Division, and Happy Mondays that would shape the sound of Oasis. He wrote the lyrics immortalizing 'Mr Sifter' during a taxi ride, while paused at the traffic light directly in front. The store is still open. On the right side there is an Oasis mural.
