Ringo Starr Family House

Ringo Starr, The Beatles

· 1943

The Story

The house where Ringo Starr's mother moved with him after separating from his father. Ringo was three years old. He lived here for twenty years. Elsie worked as a waitress at The Empress pub, just around the corner on High Park Street, which Ringo later photographed for the cover of his first solo album, Sentimental Journey, in 1970. At the entrance to Admiral Grove, a large mural of Ringo was created by street artist John Culshaw on the side wall of The Empress. Ringo posted about it on social media before Culshaw finished painting. Today it is a private residence.
