Reel Around The Fountain Records

The Story

This store opened in 2015 inside the Stretford Arndale shopping center, named after the song Reel Around the Fountain from The Smiths' debut album. Morrissey grew up in the area, and the lyrics of the song refer to the fountain that used to be in the center of the shopping center. In 2018, the store moved to a larger space within the same shopping center, and after that, it eventually left completely, settling into its own address on King Street, where it operates today under the shorter name Fountain Records, still run by Nigel Young. It remains active.
