An oak tree was planted on 21 November 2011 in Prospect Park's Long Meadow, organised by fans. A bench nearby reads: "In Memory of the Green Man Peter 'Steele' Ratajczyk 1962–2010." The location was chosen because Steele worked for the NYC Parks Department before his music career, and the Love You to Death music video was filmed here. The tree stands in the corner of Long Meadow near the archway leading to Grand Army Plaza. Fans gather every 14 April, the anniversary of his death in 2010.
