Olympic Studios

The Story

Founded in 1966 in Barnes, Olympic was considered the equivalent of Abbey Road in its heyday. The Rolling Stones recorded six consecutive albums here between 1966 and 1972, including Beggars Banquet and Let It Bleed. Jimi Hendrix produced here. Led Zeppelin and The Who were constant presences. The studio closed in 2009 and reopened as a cinema and cafe in 2013, with a smaller recording space still in operation.
