The Story

Home of Manchester City FC from 1923 to 2003, Maine Road hosted Oasis' first headline stadium concerts on April 27 and 28, 1996. Two nights and 80,000 people. The stadium was demolished in 2004 and replaced by a housing estate. The former center circle of the pitch was transformed into a lawn called Gibson's Green, where photographer Kevin Cummins took the cover photo for the solo album called Council Skies.
