The Story
Marc Bolan died on September 16, 1977, when the Mini driven by his girlfriend Gloria Jones crashed here. He was 29, two weeks before his 30th birthday. Since his death, fans have maintained a permanent shrine at the tree, with flowers, photos, and T. Rex memorabilia left year-round. A bronze bust of Bolan was added in 2007.
