The Story
The band was photographed in Richmond Park for the cover of Urban Hymns, their third and most successful album, released in September 1997. The photo wasn't exactly planned, because there was another photographer in the park delaying the photoshoot. The band got tired of waiting and went to sit on the grass. Photographer Michael Spencer Jones realized it was the band's relaxed moment and snapped the shot without warning. Urban Hymns sold over ten million copies. The exact spot of the photo within the park has never been publicly identified. It's worth exploring to recreate the cover.
