San Francisco's most famous intersection. In the summer of 1967, about 100,000 young people came here for the famous Summer of Love. Murals of Jerry Garcia, Janis Joplin, and Jimi Hendrix cover the surrounding walls. When Jerry Garcia died in 1995, thousands of fans gathered here that same night. The neighborhood maintains its vintage shops, record stores, and psychedelic murals. It's worth exploring all of Haight St.
