Freddie Mercury Kensal Green Cemetery

Freddie Mercury, Queen

1991

The Story

Freddie Mercury was the lead singer of Queen and is considered by many to be one of the greatest artists in rock history. He was cremated at West London Crematorium in Kensal Green Cemetery, in a small and private funeral. In 2013, a plaque in his honor was discovered on a pillar in the cemetery, but it disappeared a few weeks later. His ashes were given to his great friend Mary Austin, who kept them for about two years before burying them in secret. The location of his remains is a mystery to this day, with theories ranging from his mansion in Kensington to Zanzibar and Switzerland.
