The Story

In the 1980s, guitarist André Cabelo was inspired by Haroldo Ferretti's amateur studio, later Skank's drummer, and began recording bands on cassette tapes in his parents' basement. He officially founded Engenho in 1997, alongside partner Gustavo Campos, building the new space with their own hands next to the original studio. Decades later, the studio is credited on Skank's album Velocia, released in 2014, and has also hosted names like Toninho Horta, Uakti, and Holocausto. It remains active.
