The Story

Erasmo Carlos, the "Tremendão" and one of the founders of Brazilian rock alongside Roberto Carlos in the Jovem Guarda, recorded this 1978 album already in a more mature phase, mixing criticism with bohemian portraits of Rio in the 70s. The cover of Pelas Esquinas de Ipanema was photographed on this corner of Ipanema beach, when the street was still called Rua Montenegro, before being renamed after the poet Vinicius de Moraes.
