Doors Workshop L.A. Woman

The Story

L.A. Woman was almost entirely recorded at the Doors Workshop, the band's own rehearsal space on Santa Monica Blvd, after the Doors and producer Paul Rothchild fell out. The band set up a makeshift studio right there, with Jim Morrison recording vocals while standing in the bathroom doorway. It is the last album released with Jim Morrison alive. He died about two and a half months after its release. Today, there's a restaurant in its place.
