It started as a circus tent in Arpoador before moving to its fixed spot next to the Arcos da Lapa in 1982. In January 1983, an unknown band named Os Paralamas do Sucesso opened for Lulu Santos here. The performance caught the attention of EMI and launched one of the greatest careers in Brazilian rock. Still one of Rio's essential venues.
