On March 10, 2011, the Terra Portal published the gossip news "Caetano Veloso parks car in Leblon this Thursday," with three photos of the singer crossing the street. The Brazilian internet was never the same. The news became one of the most enduring memes, recalled every March 10 with montages and jokes about the irrelevance of the fact. In 2018, Caetano himself joined in the fun, celebrating "seven years since I parked in Leblon" on social media, and continues to celebrate the anniversary to this day. The street where it all happened, unfortunately, was never officially marked.
